Remember when conferences consisted of tedious flip charts and endless slideshows, and delegates sat blank faced at a succession of dull presenters? Not any more.
Now we have interactive event technology to create exciting, memorable events that engage delegates, create two-way conversations and enable you to gather industry opinion straight from the floor.
Today’s event technology gives every delegate a voice. Which means your presenters can instantly check whether information has been understood; whether there’s agreement, buy-in or commitment from the audience; or even whether opinion has changed throughout the presentation.
It’s tempting to choose the latest cool, shiny device because it’s – well – cool and shiny. But hold on. What do you want your delegates to do? What data do you want to collect? And how much information do you want your delegates to consume?
If you just want them to vote, then voting keypads are ideal. If there’s a lot of content to read or interact with then an iPad Air or mini is a good option. Mobility is also something to think about too. Will delegates stay in one room or be moving to breakout rooms during the course of the day? What device will they be happy to carry around?
And we need to take a look at the profile of the delegates too. Some will think a certain device is too fiddly to use; others will be perfectly familiar with it. Some delegates will expect the latest technology to be provided at your event; others would prefer to use their own device. And sometimes you will need to cater for both in one event.
Only when we have a thorough understanding of your objectives, your budget and your delegates will we recommend the most appropriate event technology.
