Be Inspired

Be Inspired.

Today we launch our Confex campaign and this year we are looking at the theme of inspiration: the times we have been inspired by the impact technology has made to a meeting or event.

We will be sharing some of our experiences on our stand E2T and we will be asking you for your own stories: when you have been inspired by the difference technology has made at your event or an event you have attended or seen.

Why Be Inspired?

When visiting the Event Tech Live exhibition in November, I spoke to a friend and client, Richard Elson, about his experience of the show. Richard said, “I saw what I think is a pile of clever innovation but no-one was very distinctive in what their technology could do and, worse, no-one could describe to me what difference their technology makes to the lives of the average participant.”

In an industry which deals so heavily in unique occasions focused on the delegate experience we, as event technology providers, have to play our own part in explaining how we contribute to the overall outcome. And it doesn’t have to just be the huge LED-festooned Olympic opening ceremony we focus on – but rather on the difference we make to delegates’ experiences each and every day.

Since my conversation with Richard, we have resolved to be distinctive, and to focus on the difference our technology can make to your meetings. Confex is our first opportunity to try out our new approach.

So if you are visiting Confex, come and see us and share your inspiration, and find out from the Crystal team the most inspiring examples of event technology in real life events. If you are not coming, feel free to share your story using the #loveinteractive and we will put them on the stand.

I look forward to seeing you there.

QuickMobile and Crystal Form Strategic Partnership

Audience engagement specialist Crystal Interactive Meetings, which ten days ago became the UK’s largest event technology company, has signed a strategic partnership with Canadian-headquartered mobile app developer QuickMobile.  The relationship gives Crystal the rights to resell the QuickMobile app in the UK and to support clients at events overseas.

Chris Elmitt, Managing Director of Crystal Interactive Meetings said: “The QuickMobile app has proved itself to be robust, scalable, intuitive and packed with event-enhancing features.  We believe that, combined with our broader offering – event app consulting, unrivalled network of onsite event technology specialists and our support for WiFi – we’re ready to meet clients’ needs for a full-service partner to deliver high-profile event apps.”

This offering will particularly appeal to customers who want a branded, own device app that can be downloaded from the various app stores. The QuickMobile app can also be useful for clients looking for an enterprise agreement providing one app to support multiple events over an extended period.”

Scott Lockey, VP Channel Sales and Business Development, QuickMobile said: “Our clients tell us that what sets us apart is not only our industry leading software platform, but also the support we provide to ensure consistent, high quality event delivery. We are delighted that, in Crystal Interactive Meetings, we have found a partner that shares our focus on service and can replicate our standards of delivery for European clients.”

The QuickMobile app was developed to meet the needs of both meeting planners and event attendees.  Organisers can quickly upload speaker lists, add programme content and make schedule amendments before or during the event. They can also monitor delegates’ use of the audience response technology, accessing data gleaned from real-time analytics.

“We know the app’s functionality in measuring audience engagement levels and modifying meeting content in real-time has made it a popular choice, and we expect high take-up levels from the UK market,” added Elmitt.

Earlier this month Lumi, the global market leader in real-time audience engagement has sold its UK business, IML Interactive UK, to competitor Crystal Interactive.
